We have a particular focus on products for testing timing synchronisation for networks, for which we are recognised throughout the industry as the experts. 5G and other industries depend on accurate, micro‑second or better synchronisation across their networks to operate - and Calnex helps assure them they are reaching the necessary levels of performance.
Our Engineers work in multi‑discipline product development teams that include software and hardware design and system test. The teams work closely with marketing and sales, turning market and customer requirements into high quality, fully functional products. We have exciting opportunities for undergraduates to join our team in the summer as a paid software intern in our development and test group. Working on real product development and mentored by experienced Engineers, this is an excellent opportunity to learn about real world software development, while working as part of an actual product team. Interns will also have the opportunity to benefit from our Info Hub programme which gives an insight into the various departments within the organisation.
Useful Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Studying at Degree level Computer Science or an equivalent subject in 2nd or 3rd year
- Understanding of / Interest in Continuous Integration / Continuous Development concepts
- Any knowledge of a CI/CD platform such as Jenkins would be beneficial
- Ability to work closely with others in a multi‑discipline team
The internship period is flexible but would be for a period of 10-12 weeks between June and September. A critical element of Calnex’s ethos is to be a company that people enjoy working for and with.
