About The Role
In the role of Flight Control Engineer, you will work with the wider team to develop Callen‑Lenz flight control and simulation software. You will play an active part of software project teams to design and document software whilst consistently communicating with stakeholders and other departments to ensure software meets requirements.
Responsibilities
- Model‑based design of flight control software using Simulink or similar
- Developing the design and maintenance of autopilot simulation software
- Coordination and contribution to flight performance studies
- Development of flight dynamics models for company products
- Collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders to define software requirements
- Review of software source code and model designs
- Collaboration with other engineering disciplines
- Ensuring regular and consistent test and test recording to ensure correct operation of software and that requirements are met
- Support the Project Manager in scoping, defining and estimating project tasks
- Perform other related duties as required

- Deep understanding of aeronautics and control theory

- Understanding of real time and embedded software
- Knowledge of safety related engineering practices
- Previous experience or interest in UAVs
Personal Attributes
- Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK
- Ability to commit to occasional national and international travel
- Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK
