Work Arrangement: This position offers a flexible working environment, with a mix of home-based work and office days at our Chessington head office (3 days per week), in alignment with the team.
The Tax Manager will join us on a full time, permanent basis, and in return you will receive a competitive salary between £65,000.00 – £75,000.00 per annum depending on experience, alongside a great range of benefits, including:

Job Summary: We are seeking a commercially minded and hands-on Tax Manager to take ownership of tax compliance and reporting for the UK and EMEA region. The Tax Manager will work alongside the Financial Accountant supporting tax submissions, taking an active role in the preparation and review of filings while enhancing processes, strengthening controls, and driving consistency and quality across the tax function. Collaborating with local finance and the US Tax function, this position is critical for ensuring compliance, maintaining strong controls, and aligning regional tax practices with the company's global strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage tax compliance across the UK and EMEA, working closely with the Financial Accountant, including VAT returns, VAT recovery and VAT accounting oversight, EC Sales Lists, VIES returns, and cross-border reporting, Corporation Tax returns and supporting computations, P11D and PSA reporting.
- Review and enhance the VAT landscape, including assessing current VAT registrations, processes and recovery positions, identifying opportunities for simplification, standardisation and improved efficiency, gradually reducing reliance on external advisers where appropriate.
- Provide VAT expertise to the business, offering clear, practical guidance to finance and operational teams on new activities, contracts and systems.
- Act as the key contact for tax authorities and advisors, supporting VAT audits, enquiries, and correspondence.
- Drive process improvement and documentation, ensuring tax processes are robust, well-controlled and scalable as the business grows.
- Support tax reporting and provisioning, working in tandem with Finance and external advisors as needed.
- Partner with the US Tax Team to ensure tax practices align with global tax strategy.
- Maintain and enhance SOX-compliant tax controls and documentation.
- Monitor relevant changes in tax legislation across EMEA and assess their impact on compliance and business operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent).
- Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in an international tax environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK and European VAT (essential), alongside corporate tax, and international compliance/reporting obligations.
- Experience overseeing or reviewing multi-country tax compliance.
- Exposure to VAT audits and interactions with tax authorities.
- Experience with German VAT recovery process is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SOX controls and tax risk frameworks.

- Strong sense of ownership, with the ability to take the lead while working collaboratively with existing support.

- Commercial and pragmatic, able to translate technical tax into actionable guidance.

- Well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience with ERP and tax systems (SAP highly desirable).
- Knowledge of transfer pricing and international tax principles.
- European language skills (advantageous but not essential).
- Advanced excel skills (including in PowerQuery) and interest in automation tools is desirable.
