The candidate must be numerate, literate, manually dexterous, methodical, and have an eye for detail.
Candidates must have the following skills and experience:
- Hand assembly of electronic equipment (ideally security alarms, door entry/security/alarm systems)
- Good understanding of electronics, wiring and simple PCB assembly
- Experience of precision soldering within a production/manufacturing environment
- Experience of working with electronic equipment/machines/tools
- Able to follow simple build diagrams/drawings
- Understand ESD handling of electronic components and assemblies
- Ability to use a desktop PC and IT-literate in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Have hands-on ability, with high attention to detail
- Previous experience working within a team, working to strict deadlines
Electronics Production Technician Responsibilities:
- Working in a tech bench environment to undertake various assembly tasks involving occasional hand soldering, hand placement, cable and wire assembly and general assembly techniques for production.
- Manually build finished products - cables, batteries, transmitters (pre-assembled), PCB boards, LED and electronics.
- Carry out basic mechanical tasks using small tools and other general assembly tasks.
- Use of electrical test equipment, meters and computer test systems
- Programming devices to the correct frequency
- Carry out inspection and Quality Control of assembled products
- Ad hoc technical department duties
Desirable attributes:
- Experience of working in a similar industry or with technical equipment
- Education in Electronics Engineering to BTEC level 3 or higher, or at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Demonstrate your ability to follow instruction and attention to detail.
- Be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the business in peak times (occasional overtime, which is paid)
- Appreciation of health and safety guidelines
