Electrical Engineer – Solar & Battery

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Solar PV and Battery Storage systems, ensuring they perform optimally and meet industry standards. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for renewable energy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site assessments to determine equipment requirements and installation logistics.
  • Install and connect solar panels, inverters, and monitoring systems in compliance with regulations.
  • Install and configure battery storage systems, ensuring seamless integration with solar PV.
  • Perform maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of solar PV and battery storage systems.
  • Ensure all installations comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing product demonstrations and guidance on usage and maintenance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and maintain safe working practices.
  • Travel to various national sites to carry out installations and maintenance work.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including installation records and test reports.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements and emerging renewable technologies.

Essential What You Need:

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
  • ECS Gold Card
  • Inspection & Testing (2391) qualification
  • Level 3 Solar PV (2399) or an equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing solar PV and battery storage systems
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and power distribution
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and email
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid right to work in the UK and willingness to travel for work
  • No unspent criminal convictions (must pass basic criminal record check)

Desirable

  • Level 2/3 in Electrical Installation (2365)
  • Experience in EV charging system installations
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements
