POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant. As a member of the Accounting team, this role will analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions, record and report accounting transactions, and optimize processes for efficient and accurate data flow. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross functionally with other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting for US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory reporting.

ORGANIZATIONAL POSITION

This post holder reports directly to the Corporate Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on a wide array of accounting areas such as Leases, Fixed Assets, and Expense Accruals, amongst others.
  • Prepare or review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for areas as assigned, ensuring a high-quality work product and level of detail.
  • Prepare or review materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Identify risks and drive process enhancements, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop relationships and work closely with inter-department leaders to provide accounting and business support, including research and recommendations on accounting issues, changes in judgements and estimates that impact financial results, as well as implementation of accounting changes.
  • Lead the preparation of external financial statements in accordance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain several accounting policies (including but not limited to Lease accounting, Fixed Assets and Expense accruals).
  • Analyze, organize and deliver information that move teams to decisions and action.
  • Work at the lowest level of detail to understand Company operations and identify accounting issues.
  • Manage AR and AP along with Cash Management.
  • Assist with payroll processing with our PEO.
  • Design and implement new processes and controls as needed.
  • Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed for the Controller.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP and reporting as well as the ability to document accounting conclusions.
  • Understanding of local regulations and compliance requirements. Experience in delivering processes and reporting to meet such needs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and superior attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including Excel.
  • A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 6+ years of experience as an accounting professional
  • 2+ years managing a team

Preferred:

  • Fortune 500 and/or private company experience.
  • Experience working in Sage 300 or sophisticated ERP systems (NetSuite, etc.).
  • Experience in managing the delivery reporting requirements.
