Position Summary: The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence within an assigned geographic territory. This role focuses on developing and managing relationships with healthcare professionals, hospitals, clinics, and other key stakeholders while executing strategic sales initiatives aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow sales within an assigned territory to meet or exceed revenue targets
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, clinicians, administrators, and key decision-makers
- Identify new business opportunities and expand existing accounts
- Effectively present and demonstrate products, including clinical and value-based selling
- Execute territory business plans, including call planning, account targeting, and pipeline management
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, clinical, operations) to support customer needs
- Stay informed on product knowledge, clinical data, market trends, and competitor activity
- Attend industry events, conferences, and training sessions as required
- Maintain accurate records and reporting using CRM tools
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of sales experience, preferably within Orthopaedics but also consider relevant medical device, healthcare, or pharmaceutical sales experience
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while managing time and territory effectively
- Comfort with data-driven selling and CRM systems
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience selling to hospitals, IDNs, or specialty practices
- Clinical knowledge or experience working alongside healthcare professionals
- Startup or high-growth company experience
