Controls Engineer (Manufacturing) Outline: This is fantastic opportunity for someone to work with an international company within the medical and healthcare market. The Role: * This role is based at the company site near Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire area, working for a company that specialise in the manufacturing of products for the general and specialist healthcare markets. * Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will diagnose complex machine faults and control system errors promptly to minimise machine downtime, applying permanent countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence. * It is also important that you develop and maintain a working knowledge of the manufacturing process and operating sequences of the regulated business. * You will develop and implement projects to drive improvement in manufacturing availability, product quality, employee safety and process efficiency. * In this role you will coach and develop the other maintenance engineering team members’ knowledge of machine control and automation systems. * You will record and update electrical system documentation following any changes, along with investigating any plant failures (FMEA) and writing reports to document your finding. * In this position you will also provide second level support to shift teams in reactive maintenance situations * It is also important to complete Obsolescence reviews and create plans to minimize risk. * At all times you’ll ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with appropriate internal and external Health, Safety & Environmental requirements. * Full initial training will be provided with ongoing career development. Package: * Basic up to £65k * Pension Scheme * Life Assurance * Holidays: 25 days plus 8 bank holiday (service days after each 5 years of service) * Private Medical Insurance * Other staff benefits The Ideal Person: * This role is ideally suited to someone with experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, on a range of different equipment, understanding and experience of PLC fault finding. * You will have a HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and BS7671 17th Edition (Apprentice trained to C&G 2391 or equivalent would be advantageous). * You will also need experience of diagnostics and program writing to source code level with equipment such as: Siemens S5/7, Telemecanique PL7, Allen Bradley, Omron * Fault Finding and experience of writing programmes for 6 axis robotic handling equipment is desired. * A good knowledge of the requirements for machine safety control systems according to BS EN ISO (phone number removed) is needed in this role. * You will also need experience of designing and modifying electrical control circuits and systems whilst complying with legislative requirements and best practice. * Any knowledge of inverter and servo drive systems, parameterisation and tuning would be an advantage. * It’s important that you have experience of delivering projects on-time and to budget, and have strong people management and relationship building skills. * You need good organisational and decision making skills, along with strong verbal and written communications skills, and the desire to share learnings with others. * It’s essential that you are willing to learn new information and continually develop your person skills, along with a strong understanding of IT, Microsoft Office packages, and the use of reporting systems is vital. * Applications must live in a reasonable commuting distance of site near Goole, or be willing to relocate (no relocation package available and have the right to work in the UK is essential – no sponsorship available (sorry).
