Purpose of the role:
As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying potential accounts and building relationships to present the company range of products. This will involve meeting with Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthotists, Surgical Appliance Officers, along with other key medical professionals involved in post-op recovery such as physiotherapists.
Package:
- Up to £55k basic (DOE)
- Bonus scheme (£16k PA at target, but overriders/overachievement paid out as well)

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and selling the innovative medical devices to healthcare professionals, hospitals, clinics, and other medical institutions across the territory. The territory covers the Southwest, South Wales, and South-Central areas of England (from Cornwall to Portsmouth, up to Swindon and including the Bristol/Gloucester areas, plus South Wales along the M4).
You’ll be meeting with various Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) such as Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthotists, Surgical Appliance Officers, along with other specialists in post-op recovery such as physiotherapists. You will identify new business opportunities and generate leads through prospecting, networking, and attending industry events.
In the role, you will present and demonstrate the company’s medical devices to healthcare professionals, ensuring a clear understanding of their benefits and features. You will manage a portfolio of accounts and develop long-term relationships with key clients across the territory. Customer Support and Relationship Management are essential; providing training and support to clients, troubleshooting and offering any technical assistance. You will also address customer inquiries and resolve any concerns, following up post-sale to ensure complete satisfaction.
As part of the role, you will conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and opportunities for new products. You will attend both regional and national exhibitions or events to represent the company, but also to build on your industry knowledge.
Experience required:
We are looking for someone who is either experienced in medical sales or someone coming from a MSK recovery/physiotherapist/osteopath background.
The Person (essential requirements):
- You must have a very good understanding of anatomy and physiology, especially around MSK.
- It’s vital that you have strong communication skills and the ability to build a good rapport with people from all backgrounds!
- You’ll need a passion for medical devices, especially orthopaedics/MSK and recovery.
- A good business acumen would be highly beneficial, or the ability to learn new things in the commercial side of the medical sector.
- You need to be highly motivated and able to be flexible to changeable days.
- A full UK Driving Licence is essential for anyone applying to this role.
- It is essential that you live on territory or you’re willing to relocate at your own expense (From Cornwall to Portsmouth, up to Swindon and over to Bristol and Gloucester – or anywhere in the middle of that!)
- Full right to work in the UK is essential – no sponsorship available.
