Package and benefits:
- Basic salary: If located inside M25 - £16/hr / £33,280 annual; If located outside M25 - £15/hr / £31,200 annual
- Mon - Fri 40 hours
- Travel time paid door to door
- Overtime available
- £100 retainer for standby (1 in 5 call out)
- 23 days holiday + banks (rises with length of service)

Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Handyman (Fabric & Plumbing Engineer). This role will involve regular maintenance duties across multiple sites, with an emphasis on high-quality fabric and plumbing repairs. The successful candidate will be working closely with a team of engineers, supervisors, and the administration team, with regular face-to-face interactions with clients.
Job Duties:
- Execute a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks, with a focus on fabric and plumbing.
- General Maintenance tasks (wall repairs, laying carpet tiles, replacing bulbs, ceiling tiles, cleaning traps).
- Basic plumbing (replacing taps, TMVs, etc.).
- Basic electrical (wiring in replacement appliances) - company will put candidates through an electrical competency for this if required.
- Compliance tasks (tap temps, EL flick tests, etc.).
- Safely operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle, following company policies.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and job-specific skills to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out all assigned maintenance tasks to meet the company's standard and deadlines.
- Supplies Management: Keep the company vehicle stocked with necessary tools and supplies to ensure efficiency.
- Service Support: Respond to service and maintenance requests through the helpdesk and adhere to the company call-out rota.
- Documentation & Reporting: Use the in-house electronic system to complete and submit all job-related paperwork and expenses.
- Stock Control: Maintain appropriate stock levels for project continuity and ensure receipt documentation for all requisitioned materials.
- Vehicle Care: Drive responsibly, keep the vehicle clean, schedule regular maintenance, and report any incidents immediately.
- Training & Compliance: Attend training courses as needed to meet statutory requirements and keep up with industry best practices.
Health & Safety:
The successful candidate must adhere to all company and client Health & Safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Quality Assurance:
Our client follows BS EN ISO 9001:2008 standards. The Fabric & Plumbing Engineer will ensure all work aligns with the company's standard operating procedures and quality expectations.
Additional Information:
This role requires significant travel, with an estimated annual mileage of approximately 30,000 miles. Occasional overnight stays may be required to meet project demands.
