We are currently recruiting for a Lighting Technician to join a leading facilities management provider, delivering high-quality planned maintenance and emergency repair work across supermarket stores. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work within a dynamic team and contribute to maintaining high standards of lighting efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct planned maintenance repairs on store lighting systems, ensuring compliance with company and health & safety standards.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with supermarket colleagues and internal teams.
- Complete PPM schedules within agreed timelines and ensure all documentation is accurately completed.
- Respond promptly to service call requests, assessing and executing necessary repairs efficiently.
- Prioritise maintenance tasks to meet agreed response times.
- Order necessary parts and equipment, following company procedures.
- Manage the hiring and use of plant and equipment as required.
- Identify non-repairable lighting faults and provide recommendations for replacements.
- Report any maintenance issues affecting store operations to the appropriate contacts.
- Support other lighting technicians as required and collaborate with the wider facilities team.
- Supervise and guide Lighting Mates, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Stay updated with training and industry developments to maintain competency.
Requirements
- Essential:
- Recognised electrical qualification.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- Experience in lighting maintenance and repair, including various lighting types (e.g., filament, fluorescent, mercury vapour, sodium, low voltage, car park lighting).
- Proficiency in using steps, ladders, and high-access equipment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused and self-motivated with a proactive attitude.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Desirable:
- IPAF 1b, 3a, and 3b certification.
- Previous experience working within retail environments.
