The Opportunity
We're working with a well-established organisation looking to appoint a Facilities Supervisor (Electrical) to support operations across a busy distribution environment. This is a hands-on role combining technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring sites are maintained to a high standard while delivering a responsive and efficient service. You'll play a key role in overseeing maintenance activities, supervising a small team, and acting as the main point of contact for contractors on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, testing, and repairs across multiple sites
- Perform general maintenance duties including plumbing repairs (e.g. fixing toilets), painting & decorating, and basic fabric work
- Supervise and support a small on-site Facilities team
- Manage and prioritise jobs via the Facilities Helpdesk
- Act as the primary contact for contractors, ensuring works are completed safely and to standard
- Conduct routine maintenance on plant and equipment
- Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with regulations
- Ensure all work adheres to Health & Safety standards, including COSHH, fire safety, and manual handling
- Participate in an on-call rota (£175 per on-call)
- Assist with sourcing and transporting parts or materials when needed
About You
We're looking for someone who is both technically strong and happy to get stuck into a variety of tasks.
Essential:
- Recognised electrical qualification
- Ability to carry out both electrical work and general maintenance tasks (plumbing fixes, painting, basic repairs, etc.)
- Previous experience within a distribution, warehouse, or industrial environment
- Strong practical, hands-on skillset
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines
- Confident communicator, able to work with stakeholders at all levels
Desirable:
- Experience supervising or managing a small team
- Familiarity with facilities helpdesk systems
- Intermediate IT skills (e.g. Excel)
- Understanding of budgets and cost control
