An award-winning, employee-owned Environmental and Engineering Consultancy is looking to appoint an Environmental Engineering Project Manager to join its growing multidisciplinary team in Warrington. This is an outstanding opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging projects that make a genuine difference to communities and the environment.
Working across flood risk management, river restoration, natural flood management, environmental improvements and climate resilience schemes, you'll lead projects from concept through to delivery whilst collaborating with experts across engineering, ecology, hydrology, geomorphology and environmental disciplines. Based from the Consultancy's modern Warrington office, you'll benefit from excellent transport links, with the office being less than a 10-minute walk from the train station, alongside secure parking and excellent access to both Manchester and Liverpool. Hybrid working is fully supported, with no requirement to be in the office more than three days per week.
You’ll be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of environmental engineering projects, overseeing programmes, budgets and resources whilst ensuring technical excellence and successful project delivery. Working closely with public sector organisations, water companies, environmental bodies and infrastructure clients, you’ll build strong client relationships, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contribute towards the continued growth of the business.
Projects are diverse and technically rewarding, covering flood alleviation schemes, river restoration, catchment management, nature-based solutions, climate adaptation, environmental enhancement and wider resilience projects. You’ll have the opportunity to work from initial feasibility and appraisal through detailed design, construction support and project completion, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and meaningful engineering challenges.
The successful candidate will have experience managing engineering or environmental projects within a consultancy, contractor or client-side environment, together with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. A background in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water, flood risk, river engineering or related infrastructure sectors would be highly advantageous. Previous experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing project finances and delivering successful outcomes for clients will be key.
