An established and growing Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy is looking to appoint a Civil Engineer to join its busy civils team, working on a strong pipeline of residential-led projects. The business has a practical, down-to-earth approach to design and values engineers who are comfortable taking responsibility and getting on with the job without needing constant direction.

This role is well suited to a Civil Engineer with around 2-4 years' consultancy experience who already has a good grounding in residential infrastructure. The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of civils work from early feasibility through to detailed design and delivery. Typical projects include:

  • Feasibility studies
  • Flood risk assessments
  • Drainage assessments
  • Pre-planning support
  • Section 38, Section 104 and Section 278 design

There is a strong focus on SuDS, private drainage, external works and earthworks design, so experience across these areas is essential.

Day to day, you will be expected to use PDS/Flow confidently and apply it to real-world residential schemes. You will be trusted to produce technically sound designs, coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and manage your own workload with minimal hand-holding. This is very much a role for someone who understands the demands of residential infrastructure and is comfortable taking ownership of their outputs.

The Consultancy offers a supportive but non-corporate environment, where engineers are encouraged to develop their technical skills and progress naturally as their experience grows. In addition to a competitive basic salary, the role comes with a bonus scheme linked to both individual performance and company profits, pension contributions through auto enrolment, a health plan, free parking and flexible working arrangements. There is also ICE-approved mentoring available, making this a strong option for someone working towards professional development alongside hands-on project experience.

The position can be based in either the Leeds or Wakefield office and would suit a Civil Engineer who enjoys residential work, wants exposure to a wide variety of schemes, and is looking for a role where they are trusted to deliver from day one.

Calibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age. We act as both an employment agency and employment business.
