This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Drainage Engineer to take a lead role in delivering drainage design packages across major rail and infrastructure projects.
You'll be involved in the development of innovative drainage solutions while working closely with multidisciplinary teams on complex, high-profile schemes.
The role would suit someone with strong drainage design experience who is looking to take ownership of projects, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in delivering technically robust solutions.
The Role
As a Senior Rail Drainage Engineer, you'll: Lead the delivery of drainage design packages for rail and infrastructure projectsProduce and review drainage calculations, technical reports, drawings and specificationsDevelop drainage solutions covering: Surface water drainageFoul water drainageSustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)Earthworks drainageRail and highway drainage systemsUtilise industry-standard drainage software including InfoDrainage, CivilStorm and related modelling packagesCoordinate with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure seamless integration of drainage solutionsSupport approvals and consent applications with Local Authorities, Water Authorities and other stakeholdersIdentify and manage design risks while ensuring compliance with industry standardsMentor and support junior engineers and techniciansLiaise directly with clients and project stakeholders throughout project delivery What They're Looking For Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineStrong drainage design experience within infrastructure projectsExperience delivering surface water, foul water, SuDS and earthworks drainage solutionsProficiency with drainage design and hydraulic modelling software such as InfoDrainage, CivilStorm or similarExperience producing and checking technical deliverablesGood understanding of drainage approvals and consent processesAbility to provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team membersStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsRail sector experience xohmjla would be advantageous but is not essentialChartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards) is desirable What's On Offer Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageHybrid and flexible working arrangementsExposure to major rail and infrastructure projectsClear career progression opportunitiesProfessional development and chartership supportCollaborative and supportive team environmentEmployee wellbeing, share scheme and additional lifestyle benefitsINDHTFCalibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
