We are working with a leading, employee-owned international consultancy to recruit a Transport Modeller with Aimsun expertise to join their growing UK transport planning team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to work on high-impact, multimodal transport projects, using Aimsun to support infrastructure design, development planning, and sustainable transport strategies. You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where your work will directly influence real-world transport outcomes and decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and applying multimodal transport models (primarily using Aimsun)
- Supporting model calibration, validation, and scenario testing
- Contributing to projects across public transport, highways, infrastructure, and major developments
- Assisting with transport appraisal and reporting in line with DfT WebTAG guidance
- Working collaboratively with planners, engineers, and specialists to integrate modelling into wider strategies
- Supporting knowledge sharing and contributing to team development initiatives
You will have:
- Experience using Aimsun or similar transport modelling software
- Understanding of model development, calibration, and scenario testing
- Familiarity with GIS tools for analysis and visualisation
- Exposure to UK transport planning and appraisal frameworks (e.g. WebTAG)
- Experience supporting projects in areas such as public transport, highways, or development planning
- A relevant degree in transport planning, engineering, or a related field
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly
