We are working with a leading, employee-owned international consultancy to recruit a Transport Modeller with Aimsun expertise to join their growing UK transport planning team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to work on high-impact, multimodal transport projects, using Aimsun to support infrastructure design, development planning, and sustainable transport strategies. You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where your work will directly influence real-world transport outcomes and decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and applying multimodal transport models (primarily using Aimsun)
  • Supporting model calibration, validation, and scenario testing
  • Contributing to projects across public transport, highways, infrastructure, and major developments
  • Assisting with transport appraisal and reporting in line with DfT WebTAG guidance
  • Working collaboratively with planners, engineers, and specialists to integrate modelling into wider strategies
  • Supporting knowledge sharing and contributing to team development initiatives

You will have:

  • Experience using Aimsun or similar transport modelling software
  • Understanding of model development, calibration, and scenario testing
  • Familiarity with GIS tools for analysis and visualisation
  • Exposure to UK transport planning and appraisal frameworks (e.g. WebTAG)
  • Experience supporting projects in areas such as public transport, highways, or development planning
  • A relevant degree in transport planning, engineering, or a related field
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly
