Structural Engineer Bristol Salary up to £45k Calibre Search are working alongside a major UK-based multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy who have been providing high-quality services to their clients for over 100 years. Due to further workload, they are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join their expanding Bristol office on a full time and permanent basis. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects spanning the commercial, retail, residential, industrial and scientific sectors. In this role you will carry out structural engineering assessment and inspection of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry and timber and working as Technical Lead on projects as and when required, you will prepare high quality technical reports including dilapidation reports and due diligence structural surveys You will undertake analysis and design using hand calculations as well as a range of software packages, including CSC Fastrak, Tekla, Building Designer, TEDDS, CSI Safe, Robot and Bluebeam Revu and also carry out hand calculations for verifying software outputs. Use of Eurocodes & British Standards is essential and being Chartered or near Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE) would be beneficial As well as ensuring that quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports, calcs etc) is always maintained, you will liaise with and lead other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives, working on projects of various sizes and complexity including offices, hotels, large residential developments, retail etc. Possessing a minimum of three years UK industry experience, you will have experience in all the common forms of construction, material and building types. You will be able to demonstrate excellent report writing, communication and numerical skills. Due to some of the workload, experience in working on listed and historical buildings would be advantageous, as is experience of working on large projects, offices, hotels, housing developments.
