An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong presence across the UK. Working as part of a growing Cost & Commercial team in the North East, you'll play a key role in delivering projects across a diverse portfolio including education and commercial developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of projects, develop client relationships, mentor junior team members, and progress their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for delivering both pre and post-contract quantity surveying services, whilst ensuring commercial objectives are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Delivering pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying services.
  • Managing project costs, budgets and financial reporting.
  • Producing cost estimates and monitoring project expenditure.
  • Managing contractor and supplier valuations, payments and final accounts.
  • Supporting procurement activities, including tender evaluations and contractor appointments.
  • Administering contracts (JCT & NEC) and managing contract changes.
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to clients and stakeholders.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and project teams.
  • Supporting, mentoring and developing junior Quantity Surveyors.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can confidently manage projects whilst building strong client relationships. You’ll ideally have:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status (MRICS) or working towards chartership.
  • Strong experience across both pre and post-contract services.
  • Good working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Education and/or commercial sector experience would be highly advantageous, although not essential.
