An established engineering design consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing North East team, with opportunities available in either Newcastle or Stockton-on-Tees. The consultancy provides professional design and advisory services across building services engineering, building performance, and low carbon design. The Role
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role within the building services team, contributing to both technical delivery and team development. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver mechanical building services designs from concept through to completion.
- Manage and coordinate projects across multiple sectors.

- Mentor and line manage graduate and apprentice engineers.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.

What They’re Looking For:
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- A minimum of five years' relevant experience within a building services consultancy environment.
- Proven experience managing building services projects from concept through to completion.
- Ability to manage project resources, including engineering teams, project programmes, and financial performance.
- Experience mentoring or line managing graduate and apprentice engineers.
- Proficiency with industry-standard calculation software and AutoCAD.
- Revit experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant professional institution (such as CIBSE) is preferred, although candidates actively working towards chartership will also be considered.
