Are you a Graduate Geologist with a strong interest in Engineering Geology, ground investigation, and contaminated land? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist Engineering Geology consultancy in Manchester, working on technically challenging projects across the built environment and infrastructure sectors. This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop within a highly technical, geology-led consultancy, gaining hands-on experience in both geo-environmental and geotechnical disciplines.

The Role

  • Supporting and producing Phase 1 Desk Studies
  • Assisting with the design and supervision of Phase 2 Ground Investigations
  • Soil and rock logging to current standards (BS5930 / Eurocode 7)
  • On-site supervision of drilling, trial pitting, and in-situ testing
  • Contributing to a range of technical reports including factual and interpretative reports, contaminated land risk assessments, and remediation strategies
  • Supporting project delivery and client interaction

You’ll be given early responsibility and the chance to get stuck into complex projects, while working within a supportive and experienced team.

About You

  • A degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related Geoscience discipline
  • A genuine interest in Engineering Geology, ground investigation, and contaminated land
  • Strong attention to detail and report-writing skills
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Previous site or consultancy experience (placements or internships) would be beneficial but is not essential.
