A well-established facilities management provider is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join its mobile engineering team in Southampton. The position covers a portfolio of retail sites, giving you plenty of variety rather than being based at one location. You'll be responsible for planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding and general building maintenance, while also supporting the wider engineering team when required.
The Role
You’ll help keep a number of busy retail sites operating safely and efficiently, carrying out scheduled PPMs alongside reactive repairs and minor maintenance works. Typical duties will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical repairs.
- Electrical fault finding and diagnosis.
- Completing minor electrical installation, repair and maintenance works.
- Working on electrical plant, equipment and associated building services.
- Supporting other engineers with larger maintenance projects when required.
- Attending reactive call-outs as part of a 1 in 4 rota.
- Completing PPMs and reactive jobs within agreed timescales.
- Updating maintenance records and job information accurately on the Mercury system.
- Travelling between sites across the Southampton area when required.
- Working closely with clients, site teams and other engineers.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and quality standards.
The role would suit an electrician who is comfortable working independently, enjoys a varied workload and has previous experience within a commercial, retail or facilities maintenance environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or Electrical Maintenance, or an equivalent recognised apprenticeship.
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Previous commercial maintenance or facilities management experience.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Salary & Package
- £39,115 including standby payments
- 40-hour working week
