Hours: 45-hour contract with door-to-door travel paid

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chiller & HVAC Engineer to join a leading specialist engineering business providing temporary cooling, heating and temperature control solutions across the UK. Working across Basingstoke and the surrounding areas, you'll be responsible for the service, maintenance, commissioning and repair of a wide range of chillers, HVAC equipment, cooling systems and temperature control solutions. This is a varied field-based role offering excellent earning potential, diverse customer sites and genuine opportunities for career progression. This position would suit an experienced Chiller Engineer, HVAC Engineer, Refrigeration Engineer or Service Engineer looking to work on a wide variety of commercial and industrial equipment.

The Role

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC and cooling equipment.
  • Responding to breakdowns and carrying out mechanical and electrical fault finding.
  • Servicing, repairing and commissioning chillers, air conditioning and temperature control equipment.
  • Supporting the installation, commissioning and removal of temporary cooling and heating solutions.
  • Preparing and inspecting equipment to ensure fleet readiness.
  • Completing service reports and technical documentation.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to fellow engineers when required.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest health and safety standards.

You’ll work across a diverse range of customer sites including:

  • Hospitals
  • Care Homes
  • Airports
  • Process Plants
  • Commercial Office Buildings

Requirements

We’re looking for experienced engineers with a background in chillers, HVAC, refrigeration, air conditioning or process cooling. You should ideally have:

  • Experience servicing and maintaining chillers, HVAC or commercial refrigeration equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience commissioning commercial cooling systems.
  • Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
  • A recognised engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or equivalent).
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Experience with temporary cooling, rental equipment, pumps, boilers or ancillary temperature control equipment would be highly advantageous but is not essential.

Package

  • £45,000 - £52,000 basic salary (depending on experience).
  • Door-to-door travel paid.
  • 45-hour working week.
  • Typical on-site hours of 08:00-17:00.
