A growing multi-disciplinary Consultancy in Sheffield is looking to bring in a Structural Technician to support its expanding structural team. The business works across a wide variety of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial and public sector projects, and has built a strong reputation for delivering technically solid work whilst maintaining a genuinely supportive and down-to-earth culture.
The office is around a ten-minute walk from Sheffield station, making it an easy commute, and the company offers one of the best holiday allowances in the local market. They've created a really collaborative environment where people are trusted to get on with their work without unnecessary micromanagement, whilst still feeling supported by the wider team. There's also a big focus on staff development, mentoring, CPD and creating a workplace people actually enjoy being part of, with regular socials, CSR involvement and a strong team culture across the office.
They're looking for a Structural Technician with consultancy experience who is comfortable producing detailed structural drawings and Revit models across live building projects. This is a hands-on role where you'll be given a good level of responsibility from the outset and trusted to manage your own workload across multiple schemes. The office lead is keen to find somebody dependable who can take ownership of project work and become a trusted part of the team.
Strong Revit experience is essential as they need somebody who can come in and use the software confidently from day one. The role will involve producing coordinated drawing packages and BIM models across a genuinely varied project portfolio including residential, commercial, refurbishment, later living, sports, education, heritage and façade projects. They also work across a number of council and local authority frameworks, which gives the team a strong pipeline of long-term work and exposure to projects that have a real impact locally.
Project work ranges from new-build developments through to refurbishment and remodelling of existing buildings, so there's plenty of variety technically and a good mix of interesting challenges. You'll work closely with Structural Engineers, architects and wider design teams throughout the project lifecycle, helping to ensure information is delivered accurately and efficiently. Experience working within BIM environments and producing detailed drawing packages from concept through to construction would be highly beneficial, alongside exposure to steel and reinforced concrete structures.
The business prefers people to be part of the office culture rather than fully remote, so they're looking for somebody happy to be in the office a minimum of three days a week, which is in line with how the wider structural team operates. There's no pressure for the role to be heavily client-facing unless that's something you enjoy. The priority is simply finding a technically strong Structural Technician who enjoys project delivery, takes pride in their work and can be trusted to support the team across a broad range of live projects.
