A highly respected Built Environment consultancy has an opening for an experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their expanding Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental division. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with several years of post-graduate experience, looking to develop a career within a specialist consultancy.

This is a Sheffield-based consultancy with over two decades of established reputation within the minerals, waste, geotechnical, and geo-environmental sectors. The Built Environment Division comprises of specialist Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental teams, Quarrying specialists and Surveying divisions. Key sectors include quarrying and mineral extraction, salt mining operations, landfill and waste management and contaminated land remediation.

Key Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer Responsibilities
  • Preparation and review of Phase 1 Conceptual Site Models and Preliminary Risk Assessments (PRA)
  • Design, specification, and management of ground investigation works including borehole drilling and monitoring programmes
  • Soil and rock core logging in accordance with BS5930:2015+A1:2020, BS10175:2011+A2:2017 and Eurocode 7
  • Gas and groundwater monitoring, sampling, and analysis
  • Generic and Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments (GQRA/DQRA) for human health and controlled waters
  • Preparation of Phase 2 interpretative reports and geotechnical assessments
  • Development of remediation strategies and validation work supervision
  • Foundation design recommendations and geotechnical ground modelling
  • Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) for landfill sites and earthworks (winter CQA work a specialty)
  • Project management and coordination of contractor activities
  • Production of high-quality factual and interpretive reports to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Supervision of site personnel and quality control of contractor deliverables
