An established engineering design consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its growing Leeds office. They provide professional design and advisory services in building services engineering, building performance and low carbon design. They also have specialist expertise in areas such as BIM and lighting design. As a privately owned partnership, senior leadership remains actively involved in project delivery and maintains close engagement with clients throughout all stages of work. This consultancy places strong emphasis on understanding client needs and delivering environments that enhance performance, comfort and efficiency.

The Senior Electrical Engineer plays a key role within the building services team, contributing to both its structure and overall performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering electrical design solutions, driving technical innovation, managing projects, mentoring junior team members, and supporting the development of the project team.

  • Deliver electrical building services design from concept through to completion
  • Manage and coordinate projects across multiple sectors
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to innovative design solutions
  • Support project planning, resource allocation, and financial management
  • Mentor and line manage graduate and apprentice engineers
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders

Projects will span sectors including commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, education, leisure, and historic buildings, across both public and private sector clients.

What They're Looking For:

  • Degree-level education in electrical engineering or building services engineering
  • A minimum of five years' relevant experience within an electrical engineering consultancy environment
  • Proven experience managing building services projects from concept through to completion
  • Ability to manage project resources, including engineering teams, time, and financial performance
  • Experience in line management and mentoring of graduate and apprentice engineers
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Amtech, Dialux, and Relux software (Revit experience is advantageous but not essential)
  • Chartered Engineer status with the Engineering Council and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIBSE or IET), or actively working toward achieving this
