Senior Bridge Engineer – Consultancy | Hybrid | Manchester Location: Manchester (Hybrid – 2-3 days in office) Salary: £42,000-£52,000 + benefits Type: Permanent, Full-Time Sector: Civil & Structural Engineering The Opportunity An ambitious, design-led civil and structural consultancy is looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer to join their growing team in Manchester. Working across public and private sector infrastructure, you\’ll lead and deliver bridge projects from concept to construction. Key Responsibilities Deliver bridge and civil structures design on a wide range of projects (footbridges, road, and rail). Lead technical design, manage project delivery, and oversee junior engineers and technicians. Produce and review structural calculations, drawings, BIM models, and specifications. Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders – act as CEM/CRE where required. Ensure compliance with DMRB, Eurocodes, Network Rail and other relevant standards. Contribute to proposals and project bids, and support business development. Requirements Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (e.g., CEng MICE, MIStructE) or fast approaching. Strong experience (6+ years) in bridge engineering within a consultancy or contractor environment. Proficient in bridge design, assessment, and refurbishment. Skilled in using analysis and modelling tools such as MIDAS, LUSAS, Revit, or similar. Strong communicator, confident in leading teams and client interaction.
