Leeds
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing Leeds-based team delivering intelligent, sustainable Roads and Drainage solutions for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments across the UK. This role combines detailed engineering design with early-stage strategy work, supporting projects from initial flood risk assessment through to fully engineered infrastructure packages.
You will work as part of a close-knit technical team that prides itself on careful analysis, practical problem-solving and a commitment to delivering designs that respond to real-world site conditions.
The business is known for producing clear, robust and commercially focused Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies, helping clients understand constraints, unlock development sites and create efficient, resilient infrastructure. With a strong reputation for quality and a client base that includes national housebuilders, developers and local authorities, the company has built long-term relationships by delivering dependable technical output and honest, collaborative guidance.
In this role you will contribute to the design of adoptable Roads and Sewers aligned with current standards and best practice, including work covering s38, s278 and s104/106 requirements. You will be involved in preparing drainage strategies that incorporate SuDS principles, attenuation design, surface water management and coordination with wider site layouts. Supported by experienced and Chartered engineers, you will gain exposure to schemes ranging from small infill projects to large multi-phase developments, with senior staff working closely alongside you to strengthen your design skills, expand your technical understanding and build confidence in client-facing environments.
To be successful in this role, you should hold a degree at 2:1 or above in a relevant discipline and bring experience in Drainage Design with an understanding of the associated approval processes. You will need a working knowledge of drafting and design software and a genuine interest in Civil design, particularly relating to Roads and Drainage. Strong communication skills and the ability to produce clear written work are essential, as is proficiency in standard office software such as spreadsheets and word processing packages.
This opportunity is well suited to someone looking to progress their career within a supportive engineering environment where quality, professionalism and technical integrity form the core of the business. You will have the chance to work across a range of infrastructure, flood risk and drainage projects while developing your expertise under the guidance of experienced Chartered professionals. xiskglj
