Looking for a mobile role where every day brings something different? This Chiller Engineer position offers the chance to work across a varied portfolio of commercial sites throughout the Reading area. You'll generally cover a 20-mile radius around Reading, with some travel into London when required. Sites include hospitals, universities, commercial businesses and other large facilities, giving you exposure to a range of environments rather than being based at one location.

The role focuses on the service, maintenance and fault finding of commercial and water-based chillers, alongside associated HVAC equipment.

The Role

  • Service and maintain commercial and water-based chiller systems
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs
  • Complete planned and reactive maintenance
  • Work on split, VRV and VRF systems
  • Assist with commissioning where required
  • Attend a variety of commercial and public-sector sites
  • Complete service reports using a tablet
  • Deal professionally with customers and site teams
  • Participate in a 1-in-7 callout rota

What We're Looking For

  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 or 3
  • 3+ years' relevant engineering experience
  • Strong commercial/water chiller experience
  • Experience with split, VRV and VRF systems
  • Good fault-finding ability
  • Commissioning experience is advantageous
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Willingness to travel, including occasional London work
  • Computer literate and confident using a tablet
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Able to pass a DBS check

Package

  • Salary up to £50,000
  • 40-hour working week
  • Paid travel after 30 minutes each way
  • £153 per week standby on a 1-in-7 rota
  • Overtime available
  • 33 days' holiday - 25 days + 8 bank holidays
  • Training and development opportunities
