An exciting time to join a contractor who are establishing an enviable reputation in the Yorkshire area for delivering new build, refurbishment and fit out projects on a range of schemes from schools and hospitals to commercial office space. Due to continued project wins they are looking for a QS to join the commercial team based in new offices in York City Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of a portfolio of projects
  • Compile programme-based cost to complete / project budgets
  • Advising on procurement strategy
  • Preparing subcontract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Flag areas of Commercial Risk to Commercial Manager
  • Sub-Contractor Procurement
  • Prepare Costs for Tenders
  • Undertaking CVR’s
  • Performing risk and value management and cost control
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risk
  • Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
  • Price up variations and obtain agreement with clients
  • Agree Final Accounts
  • Provide commercial advice to the site team as and when required
  • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
  • Assist senior management with the preparation of contractual claims
