I’m working with Spencer Civil Engineering Ltd, a respected civil engineering specialist known for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. With a strong order book of work – including schemes up to £20 million in value – they’re now looking to strengthen their commercial team with a capable and driven QS.
The Role
You’ll be involved in a range of live and upcoming schemes, including:
- Reinforced concrete structures
- Groundworks for industrial, commercial and infrastructure projects
- Drainage, highways, and enabling works
- General civil engineering packages for main contractors and public sector clients
Working closely with the Commercial Manager and Project Teams, you’ll manage all commercial activity from start to finish – including subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting, and final accounts.
About You
- Experience working on groundworks and civils projects, ideally up to £20m in value
- Solid understanding of concrete frames, foundations, drainage, roads, and associated civils works
- Strong working knowledge of NEC
- Experience in a Quantity Surveyor role with a civils contractor
- Confident communicator, commercially minded, and able to hit the ground running
- Full UK driving licence – travel to sites as needed
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (or demonstrable hands-on experience)
