Principal Ground Investigation Engineer – UK Wide

Join a leading ground investigation contractor with 50 years of national-scale delivery, in a role that places you at the heart of ensuring technical excellence and quality in Ground Investigation reporting across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the factual reporting process across four regional depots, guaranteeing that every report, from highways to nuclear projects, meets rigorous quality, health & safety, and environmental standards.
  • Mentor and develop on-site and office-based teams, embedding best practices in data collection, interpretation, and presentation.
  • Establish transparent, auditable workflows so every decision made from your reports can be traced back to accurate field data.
  • Collaborate with contracts managers to streamline report issuance, reducing turnaround times without sacrificing technical rigour.
  • Act as the technical authority on complex ground conditions, advising stakeholders on data implications for design and construction.

You can choose to be based in any of the regional bases across the UK, including the Glasgow, North West or North East offices, while influencing operational excellence across the entire UK network. Occasional travel to projects keeps the role varied and provides direct engagement with our busy drilling teams and client site surveys.
