The Principal Geotechnical Engineer Opportunity
I'm partnered with a leading environmental consultancy and we are seeking an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer for a pivotal senior technical role. This position offers genuine autonomy to lead complex projects, mentor junior staff and shape the firm's technical strategy.
You will work on high-impact geotechnical schemes across the UK, with responsibility for design delivery, emergency response support and multidisciplinary project leadership.
Technical Delivery
- Lead geotechnical design across foundation design, earthworks, retaining walls, sheet pile design and slope stability analysis
- Deliver rapid design solutions for emergency repair works and critical infrastructure challenges
- Conduct site assessments, investigations and specialist reports for complex schemes
- Manage Ground Investigations and coordinate subcontractor deliverables
- Serve as technical lead for multidisciplinary projects, collaborating across engineering disciplines
Business & Leadership
- Participate in business development and client relationship management
- Manage project budgets and cost estimates
- Mentor and support junior and senior engineering staff
- Demonstrate initiative in advancing client outcomes and project delivery
