This Principal Electrical Engineer/Technical Director post will see you joining the Leeds office of one of the water industries favoured consultants. They are close partners with water authorities and other bodies such as the Environment Agency and Flood Authorities, putting them in the position of being able to offer you a wider variety than a constant stream of AMP 8 duties. Within this role you will bring your HV, LV and controls expertise in water, battery storage or similar industries to table, ready to support less experienced engineers and lead on schemes. It\’s an exciting opportunity to push the current office lead up the ladder, while being supported to take their role. Working alongside the wider Civil and Electrical Design team, the role of the Primary Electrical Design Engineer will see you producing electrical layouts for substations (including AIS / GIS up to 400kV), cable route layout drawings & sections, LV layouts, switch room and control room equipment layouts and site earthing layouts etc. You\’ll be client facing, mentoring, and keen to innovate. You\’ll also need to have a sound understanding of typical engineering documents such as, but not limited to, ENATS 41-24, NGTS RES i3, NGTS 3.02.014 RES, NGTS 2.01 RES, NGTS 1, NGTS 3.01.02, BS 50522, BS7430 and a demonstrable working understanding of G81 standards and DNO\’s approved equipment registers. It is crucial that you are Chartered, or actively working towards it, and able to demonstrate previous experience of primary electrical design with a consultancy, contractor or utility in the Power industry. This will need to include producing electrical layout drawings for substations, switchrooms, control rooms and balance of plant projects that may be privately owned or have elements adopted under G81 by the host DNO including: 11kV distribution networks 22kV distribution networks 33kV switchrooms and control rooms 66kV AIS substations 132kV AIS substationsYou\’ll be joining one of the most passionate teams in Leeds that I have had the pleasure to work with, enjoying a diverse range of schemes and have a clear route to senior management.
