A well established building services consultancy is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing team. The business delivers technically challenging projects across a wide range of sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, sports, education, and mixed use developments, with projects spanning both developer led and contractor-led environments.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and ambitious consultancy with a strong pipeline of long term project involvement with anticipated across later delivery stages. Projects include technically challenging large scale residential developments, commercial schemes, healthcare projects, football stadium developments, pharmaceutical and later living schemes combining residential, healthcare, and retail elements.

The Role

The Principal Electrical Design Engineer will play a leading role in the delivery of complex electrical building services projects across all design stages. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously within fast-paced environments, leading electrical design coordination, supporting technical delivery, and mentoring junior engineers within the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical building services design across multiple sectors
  • Deliver projects through various RIBA stages from concept through to completion
  • Produce and review detailed electrical design information, calculations, and specifications
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities within fast paced project environments
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary design teams
  • Attend and lead client and design team meetings
  • Mentor and support junior and intermediate engineers within the team
  • Contribute to technical excellence and project delivery standards
  • Support the continued growth and development of client relationships
