We are delighted to be working exclusively with a highly regarded, independently owned civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Permanent Way Engineer to join a dynamic railways team working on some of the most exciting and high-profile rail infrastructure projects currently underway across Ireland.

About Our Client

Our client is a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a team of over 260 professionals across offices in Dublin, Cork and the UK. They work across civil, environmental and structural engineering disciplines and have an enviable portfolio of railway, transport and infrastructure projects. Their clients include national transport authorities, infrastructure agencies and major contractors.

Their railways team is currently delivering projects across light rail, heavy rail and railway asset management - including major national rail programmes and innovative urban infrastructure schemes.

The Opportunity

You will be working across a portfolio of active rail schemes alongside experienced engineers, contributing to design, delivery and stakeholder engagement on nationally significant projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential Requirements:
  • Honours degree in railway or civil/structural engineering (minimum Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in track alignment design and associated software/technologies
  • Detailed knowledge of vignole and trough rail technology
  • Thorough understanding of permanent way design in both street-running and ballasted track environments, including earthworks and drainage
  • Working knowledge of Irish and UK railway design standards
  • Strong design skills with excellent attention to detail and quality outputs
  • Experience of track inspection and assessment
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Proven project management skills and experience
  • Chartered Engineer (or actively working towards chartered status with a recognised professional body)
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
