We're hiring a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer with a strong contaminated land and remediation background for one of the UK's leading regeneration contractors. Based in the North West, you'll be working on some of the most technically complex remediation projects in the country β including a major PFAS remediation scheme in Manchester and a former oil refinery and petrochemical site at Ellesmere Port.
The Role
This senior geo-environmental engineer position sits at the heart of live project delivery. You'll be involved across the full project lifecycle β Phase 1 desk studies through to Phase 4 validation β with a focus on complex contaminated land assessment, PFAS remediation, groundwater investigation, remediation strategy development, and technical report writing.
Unlike a traditional consultancy role, you'll be contractor-side, meaning real ownership of projects on the ground, direct client and regulator liaison, and a clear path into a Technical Manager position as you develop.
Current projects include:
- PFAS remediation in Manchester
- Former oil refinery and petrochemical remediation
- Major regeneration schemes across the UK
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years experience in geo-environmental or contaminated land roles
- Strong technical background from Phase 1 through to validation reporting
- Experience with PFAS assessment or emerging contaminants highly desirable
- Exposure to soil treatment facilities advantageous
- Confident technical report writer with experience of regulatory submissions
- Degree qualified in Environmental Science, Geography, Geology or related discipline
- Working towards or holding chartership (CGeol, CEnv, CIWEM) desirable
- Full UK driving licence required
The Package
- Β£50,000-Β£60,000 base salary
- Car allowance
- 10-20% performance-related bonus
- Genuine progression to Technical Manager
This is a role for someone who wants to be challenged, rewarded above consultancy rates, and build a career on projects that matter.
