I'm currently working with a well-established and growing civil engineering and infrastructure contractor based in Morley, Leeds, who are looking to add an experienced Planner to their team. The business delivers major infrastructure and civil engineering projects, including projects within a rail environment, and this is a good opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in the planning and delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
The Role
- Developing and maintaining detailed project programmes
- Producing and updating programmes using Primavera P6
- Planning and programming projects within a rail environment
- Working with Project Managers and Site Teams to monitor progress against programme
- Identifying delays, risks and potential mitigation measures
- Producing progress reports and programme updates
- Supporting project teams with short, medium and long-term planning
- Reviewing project performance and identifying areas for improvement
- Managing programme changes and assessing their impact on project delivery
- Working closely with commercial teams to understand programme and cost implications
- Supporting pre-construction and tendering activities
- Attending progress, planning and project review meetings
- Providing clear programme information to senior management and clients
We're looking for someone with a strong background in project planning and project management, ideally with experience working on rail projects or within the wider rail infrastructure environment.
Your Experience
- Proven experience as a Planner / Senior Planner / Project Planner
- Strong Primavera P6 experience
- Previous project management or project delivery experience
- Experience working on rail, civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Good understanding of construction programmes, critical paths and dependencies
- Experience monitoring progress and identifying programme risks
- Understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
- Experience working within a complex and highly regulated project environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams and commercial teams
- A relevant construction, engineering or project management qualification would be advantageous
