Overview

In this role you will help build and lead the new measured surveying capability for a specialist London practice. You’ll deliver accurate measured surveys from site through to CAD/BIM outputs, while shaping equipment, processes and QA standards. You will work closely with an established team and client base, mentoring junior staff as the service grows. This is a chance to influence service development and contribute to Rights to Light, Daylight & Sunlight, and Party Wall projects in a growing consultancy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct measured building and topographic surveys
  • Perform laser scanning, total station and GNSS surveys
  • Process point clouds and produce CAD/BIM deliverables
  • Carry out site inspections and client meetings
  • Plan surveys, capture data, and ensure quality control
  • Work to RICS measured survey standards
  • Support Rights to Light, Daylight & Sunlight and Party Wall projects
  • Develop survey processes, templates and QA procedures
  • Assist directors with survey scoping and fee proposals
  • Mentor junior staff as the service develops

Key requirements

  • 5+ years in measured building or land surveying
  • Hands-on experience with modern survey equipment
  • Good knowledge of laser scanning and point cloud processing
  • Strong CAD skills; BIM/Revit experience advantageous
  • Good understanding of RICS measured survey standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload
  • Confident, professional client-facing approach
  • Full UK driving licence
  • MRICS desirable but not essential
