A specialist engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior HV / Power Systems Engineer to support the delivery of private HV networks and critical infrastructure projects across the UK.

This is a hands-on technical role for an experienced engineer who wants to stay close to detailed design rather than focus on sales or work-winning.

You will join a highly niche power systems team delivering Stage 4 detailed HV designs for private-sector clients. Work focuses on behind-the-meter HV networks up to 33kV, supporting complex technical buildings and energy infrastructure.

Projects vary widely and may include:

  • Private HV networks for hospitals and large estates (decarbonisation-led)
  • HV infrastructure for data centres and critical systems
  • Onshore and offshore wind connections
  • Client-side HV networks and technical buildings

Key responsibilities:

  • HV electrical design up to 33kV (private networks)
  • ETAP modelling, coordination and detailed calculations (Stage 4)
  • DNO coordination and client-side HV interfaces
  • Design of HV generators, UPS systems and earthing
  • Technical delivery and support to project teams
  • Working within coordinated BIM environments (Revit)

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in HV / Power Systems design
  • ETAP detailed design experience is essential
  • Proven Stage 4 technical design delivery (including calculations)
  • Experience with private / behind-the-meter HV networks
  • Revit experience
  • Eligible for SC clearance (5 years UK residency required)
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) preferred but not essential for the right technical profile

Additional information:

  • Role is delivery-focused - no requirement to win or bring in work
  • Open to candidates from Principal through to Director level
  • UK-wide position - location is not critical
