I'm currently working with a well-established civil engineering and utilities contractor who are looking to add an experienced Commercial Manager to their team at Sizewell Power Station. The business has a strong track record delivering civil engineering and utilities projects, with this role focused on the delivery of clean and dirty water infrastructure as part of a major and highly complex power station project.
This is a really good opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager who has a strong background in civil engineering, utilities or water, and who is looking for the opportunity to take commercial ownership of significant packages within a major infrastructure environment.
As Commercial Manager, you'll take responsibility for the commercial management of the clean and dirty water works, working closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, site teams, client and supply chain. Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking commercial ownership of clean and dirty water work packages
- Managing projects from procurement and contract award through to final account
- Managing project budgets, forecasting and monthly CVRs
- Preparing and reviewing applications for payment and valuations
- Managing variations, compensation events, early warnings and commercial risk
- Managing subcontract procurement, negotiation and account management
- Reviewing subcontractor applications, payments and final accounts
- Maintaining accurate cost and value reporting
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project
- Working closely with the project and construction teams to ensure commercial and operational objectives are aligned
- Supporting programme reviews and assessing the commercial impact of delays and changes
- Managing client and subcontractor relationships
- Preparing commercial reports for senior management
- Supporting dispute avoidance and resolution where required
- Ensuring contractual obligations and commercial procedures are maintained
- Supporting the successful completion and close-out of projects and final accounts
