A leading UK transport consultancy with a strong presence across the North of England is seeking a Principal Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner to join its well-established Transport Planning team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport planner looking to work on a diverse portfolio of development-led projects across the private and public sectors, within a supportive and collaborative environment that offers genuine career progression.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering development-related transport planning projects, including:
- Preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
- Input into Environmental Impact Assessments (transport chapters)
- Data collection, analysis and interpretation
- Preparation of technical reports and drawings
- Undertaking site visits and attending client and stakeholder meetings
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team
- Assisting with client liaison and fee proposal preparation as required
Client Sectors
Projects are typically delivered for:
- Residential and commercial developers
- Local and highway authorities
- Architects, planners and other built environment professionals
Candidate Profile
This role would suit a motivated and technically competent transport planner with several years' UK consultancy experience.
Key requirements:
- Proven experience producing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills
- Knowledge of highway design principles relevant to site access
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience using industry software such as TRICS, TEMPro, Junctions, LinSIG and TRANSYT
- Solid understanding of the UK planning process
- Previous UK-based transport planning experience
Qualifications
Degree or Master's in a relevant discipline (e.g. Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography)
Professional accreditation or working towards (e.g. CIHT, CILT, TPP, ICE)
