About the Company
We are partnered with a respected retail and commercial solutions provider that supports major UK and international brands across multiple sectors. The company oversees full store fit-outs, refurbishments, maintenance programmes and M&E services. With a long track record of technical delivery and quality workmanship, they are now looking to strengthen their electrical capability with a specialist focus on solar-related systems installed across select buildings within their network.
About the Role
This role will focus primarily on the electrical maintenance, inspection and fault-finding of existing solar installations fitted on commercial and retail properties. It will also involve general electrical works across the broader store portfolio, supporting planned and reactive maintenance schedules. The position will suit someone comfortable travelling between sites and working somewhat independently, with support from a wider electrical and project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out inspection, testing and servicing of solar PV systems
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues related to solar installations
- Performing routine electrical maintenance and remedial works within retail environments
- Ensuring all works adhere to electrical and safety standards
- Keeping accurate maintenance logs and service notes
- Liaising with onsite teams and the wider project/electrical department
- Identifying potential system improvements or efficiency opportunities
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Experience working with solar PV systems (testing, maintenance, diagnostics)
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance
- Ability to work independently and responsibly across multiple locations
- Good communication skills and a professional approach to working in occupied commercial environments
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and occasionally stay away when required
