If you're an experienced Structural Technician looking for greater flexibility, genuine responsibility and the opportunity to help shape the next generation of technicians, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
An established and highly regarded Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy is continuing to grow and is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Technician to strengthen its North Yorkshire team. Renowned for delivering practical, buildable engineering solutions across the residential, commercial, education, healthcare and industrial sectors, the consultancy has built an excellent reputation for technical quality and long-term client relationships.
This role offers significantly more flexibility than many consultancies in the market, allowing you to enjoy an excellent work-life balance without compromising on the quality or variety of projects you'll be involved in.
Working alongside experienced Structural Engineers and Directors, you'll take the lead on producing high-quality structural drawings and 3D models using Revit across a broad range of building structures projects, supporting schemes from initial concept through to construction. You'll coordinate closely with architects, contractors and fellow consultants, ensuring designs are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with current standards. You'll also play an important role in maintaining BIM standards and helping drive quality throughout the design process.
As a senior member of the team, you'll provide day-to-day guidance and technical support to junior technicians, sharing your knowledge, reviewing work where appropriate and helping to develop less experienced members of the team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys mentoring others whilst remaining heavily involved in technically challenging project work.
They're looking for someone with strong Revit experience within a structural engineering consultancy as a minimum requirement. Experience producing reinforced concrete detailing would be highly advantageous, although not essential. A good understanding of AutoCAD, BIM workflows and structural detailing across a range of building materials would also be beneficial. Above all, they're looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, enjoys solving technical challenges and wants to be part of a collaborative, supportive team.
As the Consultancy continues to expand, there will be genuine opportunities to influence the growth of the technical team, take on increasing responsibility and continue developing your own career within a business where progression is based on ability and contribution rather than hierarchy.
In return, you'll join a friendly, collaborative consultancy that genuinely values its people, offers excellent flexibility around home and office working, invests in ongoing professional development and gives you the opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing business where your contribution is recognised and rewarded.
