An established, global Engineering and Environmental Consultancy is looking to strengthen its growing flood risk and water team in London with the addition of a Flood Modeller at Consultant or Engineer level. With a strong pipeline of secured work across both public and private sector clients, this is a great opportunity to join a well-regarded team delivering meaningful projects across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and application of hydraulic and hydrological models to assess flood risk and inform design solutions.
  • Build and run models, interpret outputs, and contribute to well-structured technical reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies, with exposure to SuDS and wider sustainable water management approaches.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams across multiple projects, contributing to client and stakeholder discussions.
  • Gradually take on more responsibility, including managing smaller packages of work.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience within flood risk, hydraulic modelling or water engineering.
  • Exposure to software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, or InfoWorks ICM.
  • Understanding of UK hydrological methods such as FEH and the planning and regulatory environment.
  • Experience with GIS tools such as ArcGIS and an appreciation of drainage design principles.
  • Capability to develop technical capabilities and work within a 'one water' approach.
