What will you be doing?
You’ll play a key role in keeping a range of commercial buildings safe, compliant and operating at their best. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Electrical fault finding, repairs and remedial works.
- Maintaining electrical and mechanical building services.
- Working on systems including power, emergency lighting, fire alarms, BMS and associated building services.
- Responding to breakdowns and engineering emergencies.
- Completing minor installation and maintenance works.
- Supporting larger maintenance and project works where required.
- Identifying defects and ensuring remedial actions are progressed.
- Working alongside specialist subcontractors when necessary.
- Maintaining accurate records and updating job information.
- Building strong working relationships with clients and site teams.
- Ensuring all works are completed safely, professionally and within agreed SLAs/KPIs.
No two days are necessarily the same. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of commercial environments, tackle different technical challenges and continue developing your skills.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and has a strong electrical maintenance background. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Level 3 Electrical Installation or Maintenance qualification, or a recognised equivalent apprenticeship.
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
- Previous experience in commercial or facilities maintenance.
- Good knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance.
- A solid understanding of electrical building services and relevant British Standards.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- A reliable, professional and proactive approach.
