Location: North West London (covering North West London and surrounding areas). Ideal candidate location: Wembley, Harrow or anywhere inside / close to North West London.

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 45 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Salary: £38030 if based inside the M25 / £36707 if based outside the M25

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Groundworks Maintenance Technician to join one of the UK's leading Facilities Management providers, working across a portfolio of supermarkets and retail petrol filling stations. As a Groundworks Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks, with a strong focus on groundworks, hard landscaping and external fabric repairs across multiple sites. This is a mobile role, covering several sites within the local region, ensuring all locations remain safe, compliant and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver scheduled PPM and reactive maintenance across allocated sites in line with service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Carry out groundworks and hard landscaping repairs including channel drain repairs, manhole replacement, slab laying, block paving, minor brickwork repairs, kerb repairs, tarmac repairs, concreting and fencing
  • Repair and maintain external site areas including walkways, paving, kerbs and forecourt surfaces
  • Perform general building fabric repairs such as minor joinery, painting and small flooring repairs (tiling and vinyl)
  • Carry out basic plumbing maintenance including sinks, taps, leaks, toilets and minor sanitary repairs
  • Support minor HVAC maintenance tasks such as filter cleaning
  • Maintain surface and foul water drainage systems where required
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety regulations
  • Build strong working relationships with site teams and colleagues
  • Respond promptly to service requests and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Order and collect materials required for repair works
  • Maintain accurate records and close jobs using the Mercury maintenance management platform
  • Identify issues beyond repair, carry out site surveys and escalate findings with recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance team to maintain high site standards

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • GCSEs or equivalent basic education
  • PC / iPad literate
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety practices
  • Proven ability to carry out groundworks and external repair tasks to a high standard
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites

Desirable:

  • NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in a relevant trade
  • Multi-trade maintenance background
  • Groundworks experience including: Channel drain replacement, Manhole replacement, Modular paving, Concreting, Tarmac repairs, Fencing
  • Previous experience within Facilities Management, retail or public sector environments
