A well-established, privately owned Engineering Consultancy with over 50 years in the industry is looking to bring in a Graduate Civil / Structural Engineer to join their Sheffield office. With a strong reputation built on long-standing client relationships and repeat business, they've created a really stable platform for someone at the start of their career to develop properly.

This is a brilliant opportunity for either a fresh graduate with strong academics and some placement experience, or someone with up to a couple of years' experience looking to build on their foundations within a supportive and hands‑on environment.

You’ll be joining a multi‑disciplinary team working across civil, structural, geotechnical and environmental engineering, giving you exposure to a wide range of projects from day one. On the structural side, you’ll get involved in the design of steel, concrete and traditional structures, supporting with calculations and technical drawings using industry software. On the civil side, the focus is largely residential infrastructure, including drainage design, highways, levels and external works.

The role will see you working closely with more senior Engineers across disciplines, helping to deliver projects from early concept through to detailed design. You’ll be using software such as AutoCAD, PDS and MicroDrainage/Windes, while also developing your understanding of adoptable standards including S38, S278 and S104.

They're looking for someone who is switched on, proactive and keen to learn. You’ll need to be comfortable communicating with others, asking questions and getting stuck in. Attention to detail, the ability to manage deadlines and a bit of commercial awareness will go a long way here. Just as important is attitude – they want people who are grounded, collaborative and genuinely keen to develop.

The business has built its growth around investing in people, so you’ll get exposure to a broad range of work and proper support with your development and progression. Whether you’re heading down a Civil Engineer or Structural Engineer route long term, they’ll help shape that with you.

They offer flexible working around start and finish times, regular salary reviews based on performance, a generous holiday allowance, pension, healthcare support and a genuinely social and collaborative team environment. You’ll need to be based locally or able to commute into the Sheffield office regularly, as being around the team is a big part of how they work and support development.
