Their brand has been standing strong for over 50 years and with more than 2,000 Engineers across 70 countries they strive to provide the best service to their clients and customers. Their employees tackle the daily challenges around the construction process together with contractors, tradesmen, scaffolders and architects and now due to an internal promotion, they are looking to bring in an Engineering Director to their UK business.
The goal of this key position within the business is to ensure customers receive unrivalled technical support in the formwork and scaffolding industry, keeping the company ahead of the market and its competition by driving innovation and continuous improvement and developing and delivering long-term strategic plans
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead technical support for complex/major projects and enable the launch of products within the business. You will promote the business to key clients, contractors, architects etc and demonstrate an awareness of competitor products and development. As a Senior figure in the business, you will be responsible for leading the Engineering Management Team and managing the development programme for all technical staff. You will offer product training for the business, support the Regional Directors to maintain technical performance within their regions and look to drive the intake of the next generation of staff.
As a Chartered Engineer with a civil or structural background, you will have a track record of understanding business management. Your experience will include strategic planning experience to deliver long-term strategic aims, technical experience in formwork and/or scaffolding and it is preferable that you have experience as manager in the construction industry or affiliated industries (e.g. formwork / scaffolding sector).
You will demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork behaviours, entrepreneurial thinking and motivation and be able to confidently challenges others.
A full UK drivers license is required for this role as is flexibility to travel and stay overnight in the UK and abroad (Europe)
