A leading construction consultancy, offering quantity surveying and project management support directly to clients, are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Team Leader to join their Ely office. The consultancy delivers quantity surveying and project management services across a diverse portfolio of projects, working with a broad range of clients across the commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, entertainment and infrastructure sectors. The Role
The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio of projects, with the role weighted towards post-contract quantity surveying, alongside opportunities to be involved in pre-contract work. You will be responsible for:
- Managing quantity surveying commissions from inception through to completion.
- Leading post-contract cost management and commercial delivery.
- Preparing and reviewing cost plans, valuations, variations, final accounts and commercial reports.
- Providing strategic commercial and quantity surveying advice to clients.
- Managing relationships with clients, contractors and wider project teams.
- Working across a diverse range of sectors and project types.
- Supporting less experienced members of the team and sharing technical knowledge.
- Contributing to the continued development of the office and wider business.
- Maintaining high standards of service and professional delivery across all projects.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable operating within a consultancy environment and enjoys working across different project types and sectors. You will ideally have:
- Strong experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy.
- Solid pre- and post-contract experience, particularly post-contract.
- A broad sector background.
- Strong technical and commercial knowledge.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- The ability to take ownership of projects and work with a high degree of autonomy.
- The ambition to progress and take on additional responsibility within a growing consultancy.
Chartered status is not essential. The business actively supports employees who want to pursue chartership, including providing in-house training and financial assistance towards professional qualifications.
