Structural Engineer in Didsbury

Structural Engineer Location: South Manchester Job Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Hybrid We are working with an established multidisciplinary design practice based in South Manchester, who are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for a Structural Engineer with at least 2 years' experience who is looking to develop their career within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will have around 2-4 years' post-graduate experience and be ready to take the next step in their career towards a more senior position. The Role The successful Structural Engineer will work across a varied portfolio of projects, collaborating closely with other design disciplines including architects and engineers. You will be involved throughout the design process, from initial concepts through to detailed design and delivery, gaining exposure to a broad range of project types and structural challenges. The role would suit someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team, is technically minded and is looking for an opportunity to take on increasing responsibility. Key Responsibilities Carrying out structural design and analysis across a variety of projects Producing structural calculations, specifications and technical information Developing structural solutions from concept through to detailed design Working collaboratively with architects, engineers and other consultants Preparing and reviewing technical drawings and documentation Liaising with project teams and other disciplines to coordinate structural requirements Supporting the delivery of projects to agreed timescales and standards Assisting with site visits and responding to technical queries where required Developing your technical knowledge and taking on increasing levels of responsibility About You We are looking for a Structural Engineer with: A minimum of 2 years' relevant structural engineering experience Ideally around 2-4 years' post-graduate experience A relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Good understanding of structural engineering principles and design Experience with structural analysis and design Good knowledge of relevant British Standards and design codes Strong technical and analytical skills Good communication and organisational skills The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team A proactive approach and desire to progress professionallyExperience within a consultancy environment would be advantageous.
